Product details

The black rear D8-4 is a replacement caliper for 1965–1982 Chevrolet Corvettes retaining their factory brake arrangement. Its four 1.38-inch pistons provide a 3.00-square-inch effective area, with a forged housing and original-style D8 pad fit. Wilwood Engineering is a Camarillo, California-based designer and manufacturer of disc brake systems, founded by Bill Wood in 1977. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines form its range for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 120-10526-BK. Component: D8-4 Caliper Rear.
  • Supply: one brake caliper, not a complete axle brake kit. Match the mating rotor, pads, bracket and connection hardware to the installation.
  • Brake pad profile D8; select friction material for the actual operating conditions.
  • Piston dust boots: not fitted.
  • The rotor channel is specified for 1.25-inch nominal width. Rotor outside diameter: 11.75 inches. Specified rotor-width limits: 1.17–1.25 inch.
  • 4 stainless steel pistons with 1.38-inch bore diameter. The specified effective area is 3.00 sq in.
  • 5.16-inch lug mounting pattern, universal; mounting height 2.99 inches and hole size 0.47 inch.
  • Hydraulic inlet thread: 1/8-27 NPT. Use a fitting with the correct thread and sealing seat.
  • Black powder coat finish on a forged aluminum caliper body.
  • Caliper weight: approximately 6.3 lb.

Fitment & Compatibility

The rear bracket must match the 5.16-inch lug centers. A matching flex line is required for the 1/8-27 NPT inlet, and the wheel must clear the caliper across the entire assembly rather than only at its outside diameter.

PMB Performance has worked with brake components for over 20 years. Share the required piston sizing, rotor measurements and bracket drawing for help checking the match.
