Product details

The black D8-4 front caliper fits the original caliper mounting location on 1965–1982 Chevrolet Corvettes. Its forged aluminum housing carries four stainless pistons and preserves the stock D8 pad format rather than requiring a different pad family. Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Bill Wood founded the company in 1977; it is based in Camarillo, California, and its component range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 120-10525-BK. Component: D8-4 Caliper Front.
  • Supply: one brake caliper, not a complete axle brake kit. Match the mating rotor, pads, bracket and connection hardware to the installation.
  • 7.00-inch lug mounting pattern, universal; mounting height 1.83 inches.
  • Hydraulic inlet thread: 1/8-27 NPT. Use a fitting with the correct thread and sealing seat.
  • Piston dust boots: not fitted.
  • Black powder coat finish on a forged aluminum caliper body.
  • Caliper weight: approximately 6.3 lb.
  • 4 stainless steel pistons with 1.88-inch bore diameter. The specified effective area is 5.56 sq in.
  • Brake pad profile D8; select friction material for the actual operating conditions.
  • The rotor channel is specified for 1.25-inch nominal width. Rotor outside diameter: 11.75 inches. Specified rotor-width limits: 1.17–1.25 inch.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use with the correct 11.75-inch-diameter, nominal 1.25-inch-wide rotor and a matching NPT-ended flex line. Inspect clearance inside the actual wheel; a factory year or wheel diameter does not guarantee every wheel shape will clear.
