The EMPI 98-0123-B is cloth-braided fuel hose with a 5mm inside diameter, sold as a 10 meter bulk roll for the low-pressure fuel lines on carbureted air-cooled VWs. EMPI describes it as heavy duty reinforced fuel hose, the same hose it supplies in its carburetor kits, with a stock-style braided fabric cover. On a Beetle, Bus, Karmann Ghia, or Type 3, 5mm is the common size for the rubber sections of the fuel system, such as the runs between the tank outlet, fuel pump, and carburetor. Old or cracked fuel hose can leak fuel onto a hot engine, so it belongs on any regular inspection list.
Cut each piece square with a sharp blade, slide it fully over the pipe, and fit a clamp sized for the hose. For small vacuum and breather lines, EMPI makes the same style hose in 3.5mm as 98-0122-B.

Fitment & Compatibility
For 5mm I.D. fuel hose locations on carbureted air-cooled VW Beetles, Buses, Karmann Ghias, and Type 3s. Confirm the size against your fuel pipes and fittings before you cut. EMPI does not publish a pressure rating for this hose, so fuel-injected cars should use hose rated for injection pressure.
