EMPI Rear Seat to Floor Seat Clamp Kit for VW Type 2 Bus, 1952–1972

EMPI 98-8977-B is the rear seat to floor clamp kit for the 1952–1972 VW Type 2 Bus, holding the rear bench seat down on its floor mounts (EMPI bulk reference 211 898 825A). It comes as a three-piece kit. Rear benches come out often for cargo or floor work, and the clamps tend to get bent or lost along the way. A bench that is not clamped down can shift under hard braking, so missing clamps are worth replacing before the seat goes back in.

EMPI sells a separate kit for the middle bench, 98-8976-B (bulk reference 211 898 825), because the middle and rear seat mounts in a Bus differ. Order by seat position as well as by year. Benches also get moved between Buses of different years, so the seat in your Bus may not be the one it left the factory with. Before ordering, look at the mounts on the floor and the bench frame, and compare the old clamps if you still have them.
