This rubber stop is a bump cushion on the Type 2 Bus rear axle, catching the trailing arm at the end of travel instead of letting it hit the chassis. A cracked or missing stop is audible as a thud on rough roads. It is cross-referenced to VW 211 501 191 and sold each.
