Product details
EMPI 70-2883-7 is a single black anodized aluminum alloy lug nut with a 12-point head, an M14-1.5 thread, and a Porsche-style ball seat, sold by the each for wheels on 14mm studs. It is the bulk single of the nut EMPI packs five to a set as 70-2883, so it matches a set you already own when one goes missing, cross-threads, or gets rounded off. The rounded ball seat fits the spherical lug seats used on Porsche wheels and stock VW steel wheels.
The same 12-point Porsche-style alloy nut comes in three finishes, each also sold as a set of five: chrome (70-2882), black anodized (70-2883), and raw aluminum (70-2887). Wheels with a 60-degree tapered seat need a different nut, and EMPI's open-end alloy 70-2885 gives that black 12-point look in M14-1.5 with a 60-degree seat. Choose the seat first and the finish second.

Fitment & Compatibility
Fits M14-1.5 studs on wheels with ball-seat lug holes. Stock 1968–1979 Beetles use 14mm ball-seat lug bolts in the drum, so on those cars the nut applies after a stud conversion, for example with EMPI's 70-2878-0 long studs.
Installation & Tuning Notes
Start the nut by hand so it cannot cross-thread, then finish with a 12-point socket. EMPI asks installers to confirm each nut clamps the wheel and does not bottom out on the stud.
Common Questions
Is this one lug nut or a set?
One nut. The matching set of five is EMPI 70-2883.
Will it fit my wheels with tapered lug holes?
No. A 60-degree seat needs a 60-degree nut such as EMPI's 70-2885.
