Main bearings carry the crankshaft in the case, and worn shells show up as falling oil pressure and bottom end noise. This aluminum backed set is for 1200 to 1600cc Type 1 engines whose case has been line bored .50 mm (.020 in.) oversize while the crankshaft is still at standard journal size.

Fitment & Compatibility
For line bored 1200-1600cc air-cooled VW Type 1 cases with a standard crank. Main bearings must match both the case bores and the crank journals, so measure both or get the sizes from your machinist before ordering. A standard case or reground crank needs a different set.
