914Rubber Late Rain Tray Kit for Porsche 914 (1970-76)

Safeguard your Porsche 914’s engine compartment with the 914Rubber Late Rain Tray Kit, designed for all 1970-76 models but optimized for 1973-76 with the embossed tray design. PMB Performance, with 20 years of Porsche 914 restoration expertise, has partnered with 914Rubber for nearly two decades to deliver premium parts. As the top 914Rubber retailer, we sell more SKUs than anyone, ensuring you get high-quality components like this kit, built to OEM standards.

This kit is tailored for 1973-76 914s (VIN #24929 and up) with the embossed rain tray that prevents water pooling, but it fits all 1970-76 models (one kit per car). It includes a thermally formed plastic rain tray (Part #914.512.189.10), two rain tray funnels (Part #914.559.231.10), two PVC drain hoses (Part #PCG.571.900.00), four spring clamps (Part #999.512.165.02), and mounting hardware (Part #999.702.091.50). The tray, made from high-impact ABS with a tensile strength of 45 MPa, resists UV degradation and cracking. The funnels, crafted from reinforced polypropylene, bolt into the engine compartment to direct water to the hoses, preventing corrosion in the “hell hole” area. The hoses, rated for -20°F to 180°F, ensure reliable drainage.

Why this kit? A damaged rain tray allows water to infiltrate the engine bay, risking rust and electrical damage, especially in the notorious “hell hole.” The late-model embossed tray improves water flow over the 1970-72 smooth design, reducing pooling by up to 20%. We’ve installed this kit on countless 914s, from street cars to show vehicles, and it’s essential for engine bay protection. A customer raved, “My ’75 914’s engine bay is dry as a bone after this kit—no more rust fears!” Installation is simple: remove the old tray, clean the deck lid with acetone, secure the new tray with screws (torque to 3 Nm), and attach funnels and hoses with clamps (hand-tighten to 1 Nm). For 1970-72 models, the embossed tray upgrades the smooth version without modification.
