Product details
The EMPI 43-5513-0 is a .50 idle jet that meters fuel for the idle circuit in Weber 40, 44, and 48 IDF, Weber DCNF, EMPI 40 and 44 HPMX, and PMO Induction carburetors. PMO lists this exact part number in its own jet chart. The idle jet sets the fuel available at idle and through the progression circuit, so a bigger number richens that range and a smaller one leans it. Each jet is sold individually.
The .50 is one step leaner than the .52 that EMPI installs in its dual 40mm HPMX carbs, and leaner again than the .55 in its dual 44mm HPMX and in most PMO carb sets. That makes it a size for leaning out an idle that runs rich on factory jetting. The idle jet O-ring (EMPI 43-6417) is worth ordering at the same time.

Fitment & Compatibility
EMPI lists the jet for 40/44 HPMX, 40/44/48 IDF, and DCNF carburetors on air-cooled VW engines. PMO lists it for its Induction carburetors on air-cooled Porsche 911 engines. Weber IDA, DCOE, and DGV carbs use different idle jet series.
Installation & Tuning Notes
Judge the size with the mixture screws. If the engine needs the screws backed far out to idle smoothly, the idle jet is too small, and if it idles smoothly with the screws barely open, the jet is too large. Clean the jet bore with carb cleaner and compressed air first, since a dirty idle jet causes poor running on its own.
Common Questions
Is this the same .50 PMO lists for its carbs?
Yes. PMO's jet chart lists 43-5513-0 as its 0.50 idle jet.
Is the .50 leaner than a .52?
Yes. A smaller number flows less fuel.
