Product details

The PMO Float Bowl Plug (PM-O158-0) is the removable plug that closes an access port in the float bowl of a PMO Induction carburetor, sealed by a float bowl plug gasket (PM-O159-0). A plug with a rounded head, damaged threads, or a marred sealing face will not hold that gasket tight, and the result is a fuel weep at the bowl. It is priced each.

PMO carburetors use more than one kind of plug, and the rebuild kits show the split. Each 40mm, 46mm, or 50mm kit (PM-O700-0, PM-O700-1, or PM-O700-2) carries six float bowl plug gaskets (PM-O159-0), eight side and end plug gaskets (PM-O106-0), and 16 small plug gaskets (PM-O135-0) for a pair of carburetors. If one float bowl plug is chewed up from repeated removal, check the others before you order.

Fitment & Compatibility

For PMO Induction 40mm, 46mm, and 50mm carburetors. Weber IDA float bowl passages are closed with lead plugs peened into the body, so check your carburetor before ordering this plug for a Weber.

Installation & Tuning Notes

Fit a new float bowl plug gasket every time the plug comes out, clean the sealing face, and snug the plug without overtightening it. Turn on the fuel pump and check for weeping before starting the engine, then confirm fuel level in the sight glass.

Common Questions

Does the plug come with a gasket?
The plug is sold by itself. The matching gasket is PM-O159-0, and PMO rebuild kits include six.

Is this the same as the side and end plugs?
No. Those seal with a different gasket, PM-O106-0, so match the plug to its location.
