The EMPI 00-9525-0 Exhaust Lock Nut Set is eight copper lock nuts with an 8mm-1.25 thread and a 12mm hex head, used to fasten the exhaust to the cylinder head studs on air-cooled VW engines. EMPI cross-references the nut to VW part number 175 129 650. EMPI uses copper nuts on exhaust work because they resist corrosion, and it ships them with its own exhaust systems and hardware kits. Eight nuts cover the four exhaust ports of a Type 1 engine, two studs per port. The same nut comes in bulk as 00-9525-B, a bag of 100.

Installation & Tuning Notes
