This ignition coil is designed for vehicles equipped with 6-volt electrical systems. It generates the high voltage needed by the distributor, which then sends spark energy to the plugs to ignite the air/fuel mixture. As a regular service component, the coil should be inspected or replaced when diagnosing poor running, weak spark, or ignition-related performance issues.
Rated at 16,000 volts with standard 1.4-ohm resistance, this coil is built with an epoxy-filled body that allows inverted mounting without the risk of fluid leakage. Additional power terminals provide a convenient connection point for other electrical accessories. The included 14-gauge mounting bracket is stronger than typical brackets and is finished in gold zinc plating for corrosion resistance.
The coil has a 55mm diameter and features a distinctive blue body with a brown cap. The supplied bracket maintains OE-style bolt-hole spacing for straightforward installation.
