Product details
The shift rod needs a close-fitting guide to transmit the gear lever's movement along the chassis. This EMPI Delrin bushing replaces the support used in Beetle, early Bus, Type 3, Ghia, and Thing shift rods. Renewing a worn guide addresses play at that location; it does not replace the separate coupler at the transmission.

Applications include Type 1 1960–1979, Type 2 Bus 1950–1966, Type 3 1962–1973, Karmann Ghia 1960–1974, and Thing 1973–1974. Check the production split and actual guide on a 1966 Bus. Lubricate the inner and outer surfaces before fitting; attempting to remove an installed bushing can break it.
