Product details

The JP Dansk JP-2146-0 is a rear brake pad hardware kit for the Porsche 944 and 924S, supplying the pins, springs, and clips that hold the rear pads in both rear calipers. One kit does both sides of the car. Inside are 12 pieces: four pad retaining pins, two cross-shaped retaining springs that press the pads against the pins, two wire spring clips, and four small securing clips that lock the pins in place. Over time the springs lose tension and the pins rust and wear grooves, which lets the pads rattle, hang up, or wear at an angle.

The matching front kit for the 924 and 944 is JP-2145-0, and owners doing a full brake service usually order both, along with pads and, if the discs are below minimum thickness, new rear discs. Check the caliper dust boots and piston seals while the pads are out, since a torn boot lets water reach the piston and a sticking piston drags the pad regardless of the hardware.

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the rear brakes of the Porsche 924S (1987–1988) and the naturally aspirated 944 through the 1989 model year. It also suits the five-lug 924 and 924 Turbo with rear disc brakes. Four-lug 924s are not covered, and the 944 Turbo and later cars with Brembo calipers take different hardware, so confirm your caliper type before ordering.

Installation & Tuning Notes

Pull the securing clips, then drive the old pins out with a pin punch and lift out the retaining spring and pads. Clean rust and scale from the pad slots in the caliper so the new pads slide freely, and keep grease and brake fluid off the pad friction surfaces. Fit the pads, retaining spring, and new pins, lock the pins with the new clips, and pump the pedal to seat the pads before driving.

Common Questions

Is one kit enough for both rear wheels?
Yes. One kit has the hardware for both rear calipers.

Does this fit a 944 Turbo?
No. The 944 Turbo uses Brembo calipers with different pad hardware.

Do I need new hardware if my old pins look fine?
It is cheap insurance. Springs lose tension long before they look worn, and fresh hardware is the usual cure for rear pad rattle.
