The EMPI 16-7008-0 Billet Universal Mount is a machined, polished aluminum mount that fits 1 1/4 inch tubing and provides two 1/4-20 holes on 1 inch spacing for bolting on accessories. EMPI makes four of these mounts, for 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch, and 1 3/4 inch tube, and all four share that screw spacing. An accessory set up for one size bolts to any of the others. These mounts are common on sand rails, buggies, and Baja Bugs.
Tube size is the only choice to make. Measure the outside diameter where the mount will sit, since 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch tube are easy to mix up by eye. The other sizes are 16-7007 (1 inch), 16-7009 (1 1/2 inch), and 16-9570 (1 3/4 inch). A common pairing is EMPI's polished Off-Road Registration Sticker Bracket (16-7020), a 4 1/4 by 2 3/4 inch plate that EMPI says to mount with any of these universal mounts.
