Product details

The JP Dansk JP-1792-0 is a rear CV joint boot kit for the 1975–1985 Porsche 911 with the 2.7, 3.0, or 3.2 liter engine, replacing Porsche part 923 332 037 00. The boot seals the constant-velocity joint at the end of a rear drive shaft, holding grease in and keeping water and grit out. Once a boot tears, grease slings around the wheel well and the joint runs dry and dirty, which leads to clunking and a worn joint. This is the late-style kit with a thin flange, which takes shorter 8 x 45 mm joint bolts than the earlier thick-flange boots.

The kit comes with the boot already joined to its metal flange and clamp, plus a flange gasket, a conical (dished) washer, a circlip, and a packet of joint grease. The same kit fits the inner and outer joints on both sides, and replacing every boot takes four kits. If the old boots are the thick-flange type, the bolts that came out will be too long, so order 8 x 45 mm bolts with the kits. A joint that ran with a split boot may need extra CV grease, or replacement if it shows pitting or play.

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the Porsche 911 from 1975 through 1985 with the 2.7, 3.0 SC, and 3.2 Carrera engines, including 1984–1985 Carreras with the 915.67 or 915.68 gearbox. The 930 Turbo and Carreras built after the 1985 model year use different parts. Some specialists place the cutoff at mid-1985 production, so check a 1985 car's existing boots and flange before ordering.

Installation & Tuning Notes

Boot replacement normally means pulling the drive shaft, releasing the circlip to take the joint off the shaft, and cleaning out the old grease. Inspect the balls and races, pack the joint with fresh grease, and fit the new boot and gasket with clean 8 x 45 mm bolts tightened to the factory specification.

Common Questions

Does this fit my 1979 911SC?
Yes. The 1978–1983 911SC with the 3.0 liter engine is within this kit's 1975–1985 fitment.

How many boot kits do I need?
Four for a complete job, one for each inner and outer joint on both rear axles. They are sold individually.
