The EMPI 98-9022-B is a three-slot cable holder that clips spark plug wires to the fan shroud on air-cooled VW engines in the Type 1 Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 2 Bus, Type 3, and air-cooled Vanagon. It snaps into the shroud and holds the ignition leads in place, away from engine heat and from chafing on the tinware. Old holders crack or fall out over the years, and the leads then hang loose across the engine. EMPI cross-references this holder to VW number 113 905 451A.
Count the broken or missing holders on your shroud before you order, since each one is sold individually. New ignition wires are a good time to replace them, because fresh leads routed through a cracked holder start rubbing again.
