If you don't know them, they make some of the finest intake and exhaust systems in the world for both Porsches and adjacent exotics like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren. We recently reached out to Fabspeed to discuss possibilities in the high-performance 914-6 market, and came away extremely excited to work with them. Turns out, the Fabspeed and PMB origin stories are quite similar! In this article, we'll be covering Fabspeed's story, products, and production.

How Fabspeed Started
Joe Fabiani, founder of Fabspeed, has been around high performance cars his whole life, from family with classic European exotics, to his own early history driving American Muscle cars. When Joe finally got his first Porsche, a late 80s G-Body cabriolet, he was immediately hooked. The 911's signature driving experience far exceeded that of its contemporary domestic performance cars and made Joe a believer for life.
In 1994, Joe purchased a '95 model year 911 (993). Shortly after his purchase, he entered the market looking for a high performing intake and exhaust system for his car and was surprised to find out that the market wasn't offering anything up to his standards. Rather than compromising and purchasing a low quality system for his new car, Joe set to work studying Porsche's factory race department. Joe looked closely into Porsche's 993 Cup series. and designed an intake and exhaust based around the equipment those cars raced with. Joe then produced his new design, and installed it on his 993. where the performance benefits were immediately apparent. What was also immediately apparent, was the hole in the Porsche market this intake/exhaust system could fill. With this Fabspeed's 30 year legacy of Porsche Performance was born.

Fabspeed's Progression
30 years is a long time, and Fabspeed has only grown and improved since its inception in the 90s. In the mid 2000s, after identifying some production errors in Ferrari 360 intake manifolds, Fabspeed began branching out into other exotic car markets, with them then becoming the first company ever to offer a full suite of intake and exhaust products for Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren.
As cars have continued to advance, Fabspeed has continued their advancement in stride. They now offer more than just performance intakes and exhausts, with new high-quality carbon fiber body and engine bay parts, their exclusive line of Xpertune Flash Tuners, and their new catalytic converter re-coring service.
Commitment to Quality
Fabspeed has always been a stand-out in terms of quality when it comes to the products they offer, and after looking into their company, it's no surprise why. Firstly, all of their products are conceived, engineered, tested, and produced in-house at their Fort Washington, Pennsylvania facility, with a some help from partners in Germany and Italy.
They've also spared no expensive with some of the finest shop equipment money can buy. On the R&D side of things, They take advantage of a Faro Romer CMM Laser Scanning system, which allows their engineers to take a real life item straight into Solidworks and Fusion CAD. They also use a specialized Fusion 3D printer to create accurate test systems. For prototyping and testing, they use their Dyno-Jet 424xLC2 AWD model, which allows them to make sure everything they develop is providing the best power gains possible.

On the production side of things, specialized machinery like their Unison Limited CNC mandrel bender and Bystronic CNC press give them unprecedented accuracy and quality in the accuracy and quality of their raw bent metal. For their machining. they use Mach 5 Flow Corporation Waterjet, as well as HAAS vertical mill, and horizontal lathe.
