914Rubber Oil Breather Gasket for Porsche 914 (1970-76)

PMB Performance has been the go-to for Porsche 914 owners for 20 years, and our nearly two-decade partnership with 914Rubber means we carry more of their SKUs than any other retailer. Our Oil Breather Gasket for the 1970-76 Porsche 914 (1.7L, 1.8L, 2.0L) is a precision-crafted solution to keep your Type 4 engine sealed and breathing right.

This gasket (OEM ref: 021.115.487) fits the oil breather tower on all 914-4 models, sealing the interface between the breather and crankcase. Made from a high-density cork-rubber composite, it’s slightly thicker than stock at 2.5mm to maintain consistent compression and prevent leaks, even as the tower bolts loosen with age. It resists oil saturation and heat up to 280°F, addressing the common issue of stock gaskets compressing and seeping oil, which can foul the breather hose or drip onto the exhaust—a fire hazard in a mid-engine layout.

We’ve seen countless 914s with breather leaks causing vacuum issues or oil loss, especially on high-mileage engines where crankcase pressure (around 0.5-1 bar) stresses weak seals. Our 914Rubber gasket is designed with PMB’s hands-on insight to hold tight under those conditions. Installation is simple: remove the breather tower (10mm bolts), clean the mating surfaces with degreaser, and install the gasket dry—no sealant needed to avoid over-squeezing. Takes about 20 minutes with basic tools. One gasket per car.

This isn’t just a replacement—it’s an upgrade for reliability, whether you’re tearing through corners or polishing for a show. It keeps crankcase ventilation efficient, preventing pressure buildup that can push oil past other seals.
