The EMPI 86-3005-0 is a single 3 oz packet of moly C.V. joint grease for repacking constant velocity (C.V.) joints on air-cooled VW I.R.S. axles, Type 2 Buses, and off-road cars. EMPI's moly grease meets the factory fill requirements set by the major C.V. joint manufacturers, and its EP-2 additive guards against seizure under extreme pressure.
Plan on fresh grease any time a joint is opened, a boot is replaced, or old grease looks gray, gritty, or watery. EMPI boot kits and C.V. joint kits already include grease, so a separate packet is most useful with a bulk boot, when reusing a joint, or when topping off a boot cavity. Larger sizes are 86-3000-0 (4 oz) and 86-3009-0 (14 oz red tube).

Fitment & Compatibility
Use it in the C.V. joints of 1968–1979 I.R.S. Beetles and Super Beetles, 1968–1974 Karmann Ghias, 1968–1973 Type 3s, 1968–1979 Type 2 Buses, and the 1973–1974 Thing, along with 930 and 934 type joints on long-travel builds.
Installation & Tuning Notes
Wash the old grease out of the joint, dry it, and check the balls and races for pitting before regreasing. Work grease into the joint from both sides until the balls, cage, and races are coated, then fit the boot.

Can grease ship by air?
No. EMPI states that grease cannot be shipped by air, so it goes ground.
