914Rubber Early Rain Tray Kit for Porsche 914 (1970-76)
Protect your Porsche 914’s engine compartment with the 914Rubber Early Rain Tray Kit, designed for all 1970-76 models. PMB Performance, with 20 years of Porsche 914 restoration expertise, has partnered with 914Rubber for nearly two decades to deliver top-quality parts. As the leading 914Rubber retailer, we sell more SKUs than anyone, ensuring you get precision-engineered components like this kit, built to OEM standards.
This kit is tailored for 1970-72 914s with the smooth-sloped rain tray but is compatible with all 1970-76 models (one kit per car). It includes a thermally formed plastic rain tray (Part #914.512.189.10), two rain tray funnels (Part #914.559.231.10), two PVC drain hoses (Part #PCG.571.900.00), four spring clamps (Part #999.512.165.02), and mounting hardware (Part #999.702.091.50). The tray, molded from high-impact ABS, resists cracking and UV degradation, with a tensile strength of 45 MPa. The funnels, made from reinforced polypropylene, bolt into the engine compartment to channel water to the hoses, preventing rust in the “hell hole” area. The hoses, rated for -20°F to 180°F, ensure reliable drainage.
Why this kit? A cracked or missing rain tray lets water pool in the engine bay, risking corrosion and electrical issues. This 914Rubber kit restores proper water management, crucial for preserving your 914’s longevity. We’ve used it in countless restorations, from daily drivers to concours cars, and it’s a staple for engine bay refreshes. A customer said, “My ’71 914’s engine bay stays bone-dry now—zero rust worries!” Installation is straightforward: remove the old tray, clean the deck lid with acetone, secure the new tray with drop tabs (1970-72) or screws (1973-76, torque to 3 Nm), and attach funnels and hoses with clamps (hand-tighten to 1 Nm). For 1973-76 models, the early tray fits but lacks the embossed design of later versions.
