Here's a brand new ball joint nut. Many times these get chewed up because the previous owners didn't have the Porsche P210 tool to install or remove the nut width. This leads to the next best method of a cold chisel and a two pound hammer. These can often get stuck so the chisel and hammer method might be your only choice (use copious amounts of heat as well).
If yours have been beat to death, now's the time for a new pair of these.
