Confirm hub alignment and full wheel clearance. These brake components attach to the separately supplied aluminum ProSpindle and sealed hub assembly. The manufacturer is Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures disc brake systems along with calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications each call for components matched to the overall braking arrangement.

Technical Details

Hydraulic service-caliper specification: AERO6; 6 pistons per caliper; Red Powder Coat

Caliper attachment: Radial

Brake pads supplied: BP-10

Piston type: Stainless

Service-caliper port: 1/8-27 NPT

Rotor assembly specification: 14.00 × 1.25 inches; Spec-37 Iron; GT Slotted

Wheel envelope: 18 in; the complete wheel-clearance drawing determines fit

Required separate assembly: Wilwood aluminum ProSpindle sealed-hub kit 830-17728; brake kit does not include the spindle or hub

Hat mounting pattern: 5 × 4.50 / 4.75 inches; verify the mating ProSpindle hub and wheel arrangement

Hydraulic hose selection: Not included; supply suitable hoses and fittings separately

Hardware provision: Included; verify the installed fastener engagement

Not included: spindles, wheel hubs, master cylinder or brake booster

Manufacturer identification: 140-17987-R

Application and supplied quantity: front conversion kit; Sold as a kit.

Fitment & Compatibility

AERO6 calipers and 14.00 × 1.25-inch rotors form this front brake package for the separately purchased aluminum ProSpindle hub kit 830-17728. The hat has the documented 1.75-inch component offset and 5 × 4.50/4.75-inch hub interface. Compare the actual hub, steering arm and wheel with DS-1617; matching a nominal wheel diameter does not establish spoke clearance. This requires the specified ProSpindle assembly, suitable hydraulic flexlines and a steering arrangement appropriate to the vehicle. The front-steer arm supplied with the separate ProSpindle kit does not establish correct rear-steer geometry; rear-steer arrangements require application-specific steering arms.

Wilwood installation and compatibility information · ProSpindle kit configurations

For help matching the brake assembly, contact PMB Performance with the ProSpindle identification, hub configuration and actual wheel measurements.
