Check hub fit and hydraulic lines. These brake components attach to the separately supplied aluminum ProSpindle and sealed hub assembly. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977, Wilwood Engineering is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Its motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications require individual components matched to the complete brake system.

Technical Details

Manufacturer part number: 140-17985

Brake assembly: front conversion kit; Sold as a kit.

Calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 6R; 6 pistons per caliper; Black Powder Coat

Caliper mounting: Radial

Included pad compound: BP-10

Piston material: Stainless

Hydraulic caliper inlet: 1/8-27 NPT

Rotor dimensions and construction: 12.88 × 1.10 inches; Spec-37 Iron; GT Slotted

Wheel-size reference: 17 in; the complete wheel-clearance drawing determines fit

Required separate assembly: Wilwood aluminum ProSpindle sealed-hub kit 830-17728; brake kit does not include the spindle or hub

Hat mounting pattern: 5 × 4.50 / 4.75 inches; verify the mating ProSpindle hub and wheel arrangement

Hydraulic flexlines: Not included; supply suitable hoses and fittings separately

Mounting hardware: Included; verify the installed fastener engagement

Not included: spindles, wheel hubs, master cylinder or brake booster

Fitment & Compatibility

This Superlite front package requires the specific Wilwood aluminum 2.00-inch-drop ProSpindle and sealed hub 830-17728. Six-piston radial calipers align with 12.88 × 1.10-inch rotors and the 1.875-inch-offset hat. Compare the separate hub with the 5 × 4.50/4.75-inch hat drilling and inspect registration before assembly. DS-1615 identifies the brackets and caliper-height procedure for the 12.88-inch kit. Check the wheel drawing and steering geometry, and provide compatible brake hoses separately. The front-steer arm supplied with the separate ProSpindle kit does not establish correct rear-steer geometry; rear-steer arrangements require application-specific steering arms.

Wilwood installation and compatibility information · ProSpindle kit configurations

PMB Performance brings over 20 years of parts and fitment experience to component selection.
